Abolition is Creative Tote Bag
Designed by our formerly incarcerated artist, graphic designer, and screen printer Mac (@enron___hubbard). This tote and graphic were designed to convey the creative process of prison and police abolition. Too often, abolition is understood and visualized as simply a destructive process. This is not abolition in its entirety. Rather, abolition is a creative process. It is a process of cultivating flourishing communities that hold each other accountable and keep each other safe, housed, and fulfilled. Public safety is found in strong communities, not in cop cars and cages.
This graphic visualizes that creative process by showing an abandoned police car with a flourishing garden growing in its place. Abolition is a project of rendering our punishment system and all of its manifestations obsolete through the cultivation and care of true community.
Our clothing is designed to spread love and forgiveness and start conversations wherever you go.
We are dedicated to raising awareness and understanding for individuals to society after prison. 20% of our proceeds are donated to non-profits helping formerly incarcerated individuals successfully reenter society.
The rest of the profit funds our initiatives to hear and write the life stories of people coming out of prison which you can read on our blog. In addition to storytelling, purchases from Forgive Everyone help fund our activism and education efforts in the form of journalism, toolkits, zines, and online discussion groups.
Your purchase directly impacts lives of returning citizens, and moves the needle towards creating a more forgiving society; for everyone.
